EvoTeak Deckings and Margins

Applications

Specifically designed to cope with high quality standards required by the yachting industry, Evoteak™ is the Nord Compensati engineered wood product based on the use of natural Teak.
Unlike synthetic or composite substitutes offered on the market today, Evoteak™ has no peculiar issues and behaves for all intents and purposes like traditional solid Teak.
This allows EvoTeak™ not only to be recognized as a "noble" material, but also to ensure that the intended use is the same as the planks historically used for the most prestigious boats.
Among the applications:

Boatbuilding

Decks of yachts and sailing boats, furniture and cladding in general.

Constructions

Outdoor flooring such as balconies, terraces and patios, indoor flooring, porches, windows, stairs.

Doors, Windows and Furniture

Furniture, bathroom furniture, outdoor furniture, shower trays, shelving, doors.

Teak deckings - quality standards

  • Teak deckings are free of knots and visible black stripes
  • There are no grain loops, cracks, infiltrations, spots or worm holes
  • Only the best logs, free of defects, are selected to produce deckings and margins
  • Teak deckings are also accurately tested by Nord Compensati to ensure the beautiful effect of quarter-sawn wood, with straight grain and consistent texture
  • The color of deckings is classical blonde, typical of high-quality Teak
  • The deckings can be smooth or rabbeted (to insert rubber and/or wood inlays)
  • The rabbet can be sized to customer specifications

Teak Features

  • Teak is rich of natural oil substances that make it the most suitable species for outdoor applications under severe conditions
  • It effectively withstands weather and temperature variations
  • Extraordinary resistance to humidity, water and saltiness
  • It can be hardly attacked by insects or vegetal parasites

Teak Veneer

Applications

Sliced veneer is generally spliced together to obtain large sheets that are later pressed onto less noble substrates such as: raw plywood panels and blockboard. This allows the production of semi-finished products that are used for the production of furniture and furniture parts, ensuring uniformity of color and continuity of grain.

For the particular characteristics of durability, dimensional stability and water-resistance, the teak veneer is also used in the construction of fine furniture and boat floorings.

Size

  • Slabs

Standard size

  • Sheets of different length and width

Standard thicknesses

  • 0.6 mm, 1 mm, 1.5 mm, 2 mm, 2.6 mm

Features

  • The veneer is obtained as a result of a log processing, recomposed in bundles of sheets of equal width and length. A bundle of 0,6 mm thickness includes about 32 sheets, 1 mm thickness about 16 sheets, 2 mm thickness about 8 sheets and 2,6 mm thickness 6/8 sheets. The measurement is in square meters.
  • Our company supplies both loose and spliced veneer. In this case, we are able to perform splicing and pressing processes according to the customer's requirements.
  • The veneer splicing is made with glue and carried out by the latest generation plants guaranteeing a perfect performance.

Composition

  • The term "veneer" identifies a bundle of thin wood sheets of uniform thickness and various lengths and widths, produced by logs' slicing.
  • Splicing gluing: Class 3, Melamine adhesive
  • Weight: 700 kg/m3

Technical information

The melamine gluing is in Class 3, therefore resistant to boiling and ideal for external use according to EN 314.2 standards.
