Love for wood and boatbuilding handed down through generations

Nord Compensati è stata fondata nel 1918 dalla famiglia Vergani come società di commercio di legname per l’arredamento.

Nel 1950, Paolo Vergani, figlio del fondatore, avviò la produzione di pannelli multistrato. Negli anni ‘60, con l’acquisto del cantiere navale Ilver, l’azienda si specializzò nella produzione di compensati marini fenolici per la nautica.

La terza generazione, guidata da Francesco Vergani, continuò a innovare negli anni ‘90 introducendo pannelli sandwich alleggeriti, insonorizzanti e ignifughi per yacht. Dagli anni 2000, Nord Compensati ha adottato una politica ecosostenibile, utilizzando legno da foreste gestite in modo sostenibile, materiali green ed energie rinnovabili, oltre a investire in nuovi servizi con un dipartimento di progettazione e un reparto produttivo CNC.

Paolino Vergani Undertakes the production of plywood intended for furniture.

The company further expanded its reach by entering the marine industry, starting production of the first marine plywood.

The company obtains RINA type approval for its production, certifying quality and compliance with the standards required in the marine industry according to the Italian Naval Registry.

It produces the first high-performance sandwich panels intended for the marine industry and obtains ISO 9001 certification, confirming its commitment to high quality standards.

Nord Compensati inaugurates a new 15,000-square-meter production and logistics facility and starts the green transition by obtaining FSC chain custody.

It takes a further step toward sustainability by introducing the use of PET and the possibility of manufacturing with formaldehyde-free bonding, upon request.

A new design department dedicated to customized solutions for Yacht and SY is established. Increases production capacity through the purchase of new state-of-the-art machinery, such as CNC and a new high-capacity automated production line for panels with polyurethane bonding. 30% of production is powered by green energy through the installation of a new photovoltaic system.
