Applications
Historically used in projects that provide weight containment, the Balsa is coupled with the marine plywood Okoumè to give life to Isomar Balsapan ™, the lightened Sandwich panel suitable both for the construction of pleasure boats and the Realization of fast means of transport.

Bulkheads and partitions, flooring, cockpits, flying bridges, furniture, ceilings.
Automotive
Walls and flooring, trains, airplanes, buses, underground trains, hydrofoils, ferries.

Features
- Extremely light, for the same thickness it offers greater stiffness and up to 70% lower weight compared to the Okoume Marine Plywood commonly used for the same applications
- Weight from 4.40 kg/m² (in 15 mm configuration)
- Excellent durability and mechanical strength in environments with high moisture and salinity
- High compression resistance equal to 9.2 N/mm² (according to ISO 844), thanks to the direction of end grain
- The Balsa core also offers good thermal and acoustic insulation
- Squared and sanded before delivery
Composition
- Composed of outer faces (skins) of Okoume Marine Plywood
- Face quality (surface layers): B/BB
- End-grain Balsa core (150 kg/m³ density)
- Gluing with melamine adhesive in Class 3 (See Specifications)
Certifications and marking
Technical information
The parts in Okoume are manufactured in compliance with NF CTB-X exterior plywood standards. They have obtained the CE marking for structural use in external environment, according to EN 13896 standards.
Depending on the specific characteristics, Isomar Balsapan ™ can be requested with faces in plywood of Okoumè FSC mixed or 100% FSC certified.
The bonding of the compensated Okoumè used are in Class 3 – E1, therefore resistant to boiling and ideal for external uses; are carried out according to EN 314.2.
The Sandwich panel assembly (plywood + core layer) is made with melamine adhesive in class E0 NAF – No Added Formaldehyde.
Nota Bene - Class E0
Isomar Balsapan™ can be requested entirely in class E0 if faces are made with RINA Okoume plywood of our production.
